1990's RONALDO FRAGA Denim Blazer
soft but structured striped denim - long ivory woven waist ties for a variety of styling options - sculptural darts and fine finishing - front button closure
Mel's Notes: One of Brazil's most innovative designers, Ronaldo Fraga led the charge to bridge the gap between the runway and local artisans long before sustainable fashion was in vogue. Activist as much as creative, he's continued to push for a more equitable fashion ecosystem over the years. From Trendwatch: "In October 2016, [Fraga] hired 28 transgender models to wear his new collection on the runway at São Paulo Fashion Week. The Brazilian fashion designer cast a range of professional models as well as non-professionals, including teachers and hairdressers. The show began with a recording stating: ‘the body imprisons and the clothes release being’."
