1970's Demi-Couture 4-Piece Jumpsuit Ensemble
Vintage 1970's 4-Piece Ensemble
Gray "croc" print silk chiffon (maybe georgette as it has a bit of body, but is still super soft?) jumpsuit, tunic and ridiculously long scarf (clocking in at almost 12 feet). Matching jacket is made from the same print in a luxurious, heavy wool. All the hallmarks of an American couture or demi-couture piece - silk lined, hand-finishing everywhere, self-covered snaps, etc. Label reads, "Frederick & Nelson, Seattle".
Mel's Notes: Frederick & Nelson was a high-end department store that housed special boutiques for Blass, Halston and the like. Sadly this piece has no label - it appears to have been removed, leaving only the small size "8" tag in its wake. (You can see the area where the large tag would have been - most similar in size and shape to Blass, but who knows? What's clear is that this was a pièce de resistance in someone's wardrobe. It definitely has a kind of Mad Max vibe when worn altogether - 70's Nomad chic? Anyway, it's one of the best ensembles I've ever found.
Excellent Condition, although it appears to be missing it's 5th piece - a belt to go over the tunic (for which the loops exist); otherwise, chef's kiss
