1980's TOKIO KUMAGAI Museum-Held Mouse Flats
Vintage 1980's TOKIO KUMAGAI Mouse Flats
Gray leather upper with charming mouse face design. Tiny leather tails at the back of each shoe. Slight wedge heel. Cream leather interiors. Leather soles.
Mel's Notes: Versions of this ultra-rare Kumagai design are held in a number of major museums, including the Met's Costume Institute. Kumagai designed for Castelbajac, Rodier and Fiorucci throughout the 70's, but opened his own boutique in 1980. His work could be, at once, classical and avant-garde, which appeals to my Hall of Wonder sensibilities. This is a truly special pair of shoes.
Excellent Condition; minor creasing; some scuffing to the soles
